About Us

The Animal House Project is a non profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization helping homeless and abused animals since 2001.  We are in the heart of Chester County, PA, and are involved in a variety of projects to benefit animals.

We started out as a no-kill animal rescue group with a small foster network, and were successful in placing over 300 pets in good homes.  As time went on we were unable to keep up with the demands and expenses, so we veered away from hands on rescue and focused on raising funds for those doing the difficult and heartbreaking leg work.

What We've Raised & Given To Date

All God's Creatures - $1,309.91

The Abby Sanctuary - $1,350.42

Glenmoore Small Animal Rescue - $300.00

Cat Angel Network - $500.00

Birch Haven Rescue & Rehabilitation Services - $500.00

Our Animal House Project has been operating The Chester County Pet Food Pantry & "No Fleas" Market since March 2012, at 2228 Strasburg Rd. in Coatesville, PA.  We are there every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month from 11 - 2, distributing free pet food & items to nearly 200 members.

We continue to provide the following services:

Barter Benefiting Animals:  Accepting donations of gently used items to sell at our "No Fleas" Market.

Fundraising:  We host and assist with a variety of events that raise funds & awareness for animal welfare.

Educational Programs:  Distributing literature and speaking at institutions or events regarding proper pet care & handling, pet health, and other animal related topics like the use of a wireless dog fence.  2013 will start the production of brief public service announcements for internet and public access television.

Assistance with Pet Placement:  While we cannot house any animals at this time, we are able to assist individuals in spreading the word regarding pets in need of homes.  We do this by creating & sharing flyers with pet photo & bio, locally as well as online.  We also feature adoptable pets at most of our events.  This process may take time, and placement is not guaranteed.

Vet Care Program:  Monies raised above pantry operation costs will be used towards the spaying, neutering, and vaccinations of pantry members' pets.  Please give what you can by clicking the donate button above.

Long Term Goal:  To build an emergency animal shelter with people accomodations...
